Pushkar Fair

The Pushkar fair is amongst the most unique fairs of its kind in the world. It is a
combination of a cattle fair and the religious fair. Both the fairs are enchanting
and have their own unique aspects and quality. As per the Indian calendar the fair
is held in the first lunar cycle in the month of Kartik culminating on the Kartik
poornima (Full moon). The last four days of the fair are considered as the holiest
occasion for all the believers in Hinduism. A bath in the sacred Pushkar Lake is
considered the ultimate act of spirituality. The cattle fair takes place during the
first nine days of the fair peaking from the 5th day and finishing on the 9th day.
The animals start dispersing from the 9th day.


To enjoy the extravaganza of the cattle fair, it is advisable to visit Pushkar from Oct 29 to the Nov 05, 2006

Ajmer - Pushkar ( 11 Km - 1 Hrs drive) Assemble at the British High Commission (Ashok Gate) at 0515 AM. Leave for New Delhi railway station to board Shatabdi Exp. to Ajmer. Day 02 : Pushkar

Varanasi Tour
Duration: 2 nights / 3 days

Day 01: New Delhi - Varanasi (Magadh Express, Dep. At 2000)

Later leave New Delhi railway station to board the Magadh Express to Varanasi (Mughalsarai).

Day 02: Arrival Varanasi (Mughalsarai (At 0717 Hours)

Mughalsarai is 12 Kilometers away from Varanasi and most of the super fast trains stops at Mughalsarai not at Varanasi.
Varanasi is one of the oldest living cities in the world, contemporary of Thebes and Babylon. It is also one of the holiest Hindu cities and still thriving on its religious past.

Morning we do a tour of Varanasi visiting the Durga Temple, Tulsi Manas Temple & Benares Hindu University. Afternoon excursion to Sarnath, a place where Buddha preached his first lessons on Nirvana. Here we also visit the local museum with its interesting collection of Buddhist artifacts.

Overnight in Varanasi.

Day 03: Varanasi - Delhi
Early morning at dawn we have a boat ride on the holy river Ganges to see the devout praying and bathing on the Ghats (Banks), with funeral pyres burning in the distance.

Afternoon transfer to airport to board the flight for Delhi.
Assistance on arrival in Delhi and transfer to your residence.
